Systems Engineer/Script Automation Specialist / Adecco / New York, NY
Adecco/New York, NYAdecco Engineering and Technical is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer/Script Automation Specialist job located in New York, NY. The Systems Engineer will assist with migrating existing scripts from one data center to another & making sure the productivity is functioning properly. The right candidate is someone with scripting practice, both Perl & Shell. They are also looking for someone with familiarity with network protocols (troubleshooting—break down script into smaller pieces to figure out what is not working).
Responsibilities for Systems Engineer/Script Automation Specialist include but are not limited to the following:
Transcribe over 900+ scripts from one data center to another, making sure that the scripts work within the new data center environment taking into account all the variations (VLANs, subnets, server hardware, OS, patches, etc.).
Ensure network connectivity for each script works properly in the new data center without affecting existing infrastructure in OCL.
Test the scripts to ensure proper functionality and work with relevant parties to resolve failures due to location difference.
Work must be done with appropriate caution and oversight since he or she will be working in a live production environment.
Well versed in writing Scripts in Shell and/or Perl
Hands on experience with CA Autosys.
